But what exactly is W2 technology? Read on to find out…
W2 refers to the quality of the steel used to make the clamps. A W2 exhaust clamp will use high-quality stainless steel, in this case, 430 grade. This, combined with the zinc plated high tensile steel bolt and thread locks, makes a W2 clamp one of the toughest on the market.
Turn to the dark side: black exhaust clamp coating
These clamps have three layers: a base ceramic coating, followed by two further coatings of Satin Black. This gives them a long-lasting finish which is protected from corrosion.
The Satin Black coating, a high-polymer ceramic, can handle temperatures up to 1000 Celcius. The clamps can be cleaned using soapy water.
