If someone attempts to steal your bike or scooter, chances are the ignition switch is going to be damaged beyond repair. The last thing you’ll want is a big bill for a replacement OE ignition switch. And don’t forget that, unless you want to be carrying a lot of keys, you’ll be best off buying the fuel cap and seat lock (on models that have them) in a kit so they’ll share the same key.
Wear and tear can also get the best of your equipment – fuel caps can be easily damaged by the keys themselves, and while it is difficult to snap a key in the lock, it does happen (at the worst of times). If you’re trying to restore an old bike, you may find the locks have been victims of age and moisture and aren’t functioning as they should.
Wemoto stock both lone ignition switches, and full lockset, for a variety of models and years. Much of our stock is from Spanish company Vicma, who have been the original equipment suppliers for Yamaha, Ducati and other manufacturers. This OE-standard quality is now available for the aftermarket at a fraction of the OE price.
